A Baby Shower

Saturday kicked off a little celebratioin for baby Kyle. Its the FIRST grandchild for our family: Mr. Bun-in-the-oven is due in just a few short weeks...Ashley, my lil' sis is holding up like a champ. Below you'll see random pics of the happy couple, games, cupcakes and their new home. I saved the best for last, an incriminating mud mask. We're in Tennessee for a few days and to our suprise, the weather is COLD! We're headed back to the West Coast in just a few hours...so that's it for now...Wednesday I'm back in the office, but until then I'll try to soak up a few more hours of Southern food & folk. We're jazzed for Kevin & Ashley, it might be a Christmas baby!

Veterans Day Parade

Last Monday, my grandpa invited us to ride with the Marine Core in support of the troops that served. It was our first time in a parade, but the fun part was meeting the troops that served and the kids marching. I was in the mix shooting pictures up and down the street while Ray waved with Grandpa in the transport vehicle. The crowd roared when the older Veterans marched, it was a great feeling!!!

Marine Core Ball

At last! Finally, a chance to blog about an aweomse Southern-style vacation. Its been much too long in between visits, we were long overdue. I really wanted to soak up some quality family time with the relatives in South Carolina-it was never a dull moment. Not to mention we were stuck with dial up for 2 weeks, an actual blessing in disguise because its always nice to unplug.

My Grandpa invited us to attend the annual Marine Core Ball. It was a big occasion to accompany them for a special birthday celebration in honor of past and present Marines. It was quite a fancy affair-

Animal Planet

Ray and I FINALLY made time for a little outing this holiday weekend and laughed our bums off at the Zoo. Talk about feeling like the minority. It was attack of the of the strollers at Point Defiance! All the more reason to goof off and fit in with the crowd. Ray teased this poor peacock, criticized him to no end! He kept saying stuff like "all you are is a fancy chicken!" "you're dressed up in a costume, big deal!"

Before I read the directions for the starfish tank, I poked my entire hand in the water and started petting these little critters. Apparently, the sign read "one-finger petting only!"

Ray and ET (the walrus) were caught gazing at each other.

Ray hates close ups and I had a way gross & ugly zit: here's our happy in-between pic! Its all about compromise...

And just in case you didn't see my myspace announcement, I AM attending the JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE concert Saturday! (Of course, not before enjoying Yvonne & Mark's wedding on Friday!) I'm taking my really good friend Melodie Rivera for her birthday! We met when she hired me for her August wedding in 2007- she kicked it "Hawaiian style" on Lake Union and we've been friends ever since! She's saucy, smart and she totally "gets" who I am. Nothing like have a friend understand your most jumbled ideas..Here's a little snap of us at the rollerrink.

If you've got JT tix, HOLLA!! This will be my first concert since Toad the Wet Sprocket back in 1995. WAY overdue.

Herzlichen Glueckwunsch zum Geburtstag!

Go me, its my birthday!

I turn 27 today. Also came down with tonsilitis this week, horse piddle!

Fueled like a jet engine on grape juice, I somehow managed to wrap up 4 projects this week. Work a little, sleep a lot.

Feeling old, but not blue because Ray took me to breakfast at our favorite place and professed his love all over again. Such a romantic guy, he always has me on my toes. I never know what to expect out of his mouth, his mind sort of a mix between a big kid & an donut-fanatic. He makes life full of wonderful surprises.

Thanks for the great birthday wishes from everyone, here's to many more years of fun!Cheerio!

Here's a photo from last year, oh the days of 26.....

Happy Father's Day!

Its a bird! Its a plane no wait!, Its my dad!

In light of today's holiday to honor our fathers, I'd like to post a few incriminating pictures of him. he he he

Ode to mein Vater!

From left to right the big Ol' Greer Clan: April , James (the Jimbo) Greer, Adrian & Thomas Greer, the Momma, & my lil' sis Ashley.

My dad has largely impacted on my life. Mainly birth. Not giving it, rather contributing to it, or some I'm told!

James Leroy Greer, Jr. has also, in various fatherly ways, contributed to my well-being including but not limited to: spankings, wrestling matches, fashion faux pas, and spankings. These days he spends his time working on a Ph.D. and finding new ways to surprise my mom with gifts. You'd think after 100 years she would catch on to his little tricks, but he's THAT good.

When it comes to fatherly advice my dad illustrates the crux of an issue by using a story. He speaketh in parables. He iseth a longeth-windeth personeth. He passed down a gift of gab to Ashley and Thomas. I got shafted. Bummer.

He's also instilled in me, the need for a strong personality to rival my own. My dad's a tough guy, not in a Sopranos sense, just in a manly sense. He is probably one of the most determined (at times stubborn) and very strong-willed individuals. Ray is not AS strong-willed when it comes to donuts, but he reminds me a lot of my dad. They both have strong characters, witty humor, and a sense of unexpected kindness.

He's also frighteningly handsome. Enjoys the limelight too!

This little lady below is a spitting image of my dad. For all the trouble my dad caused my grandmother, Ashley created infinitely more trouble for my dad. I think my grandmother must be smiling down from Heaven. We love Ashley, but she's a total drama queen. This is one of her senior portraits looking angelic and sweet. My first senior portrait session ever!

This is her normal attire. She's ready to magnetize any and all police & lure wayward boyfriends. She is every bit as stubborn as my dad. Only not as smart.... a dangerous combo. Which is why she calls him so often. To get her out of jail. J/K.

Both connected to the US Military, she's required to salute the higher ranking individuals.

We're a pretty close family. He likes to embarrass us. A lot.

My brother is also a lot like my dad. Only, he is not a tough guy. We still like him though.

After all these years, they still love to laugh!

My dad's sister Sandy totally has the smart genes too. She reads book after book and knows way too much general information. She gave me my very first camera! Its what got me into this mess to start with!

The youngest Greer out there, my cousin Courtney and I.
Happy Father's Day & we love you bunches!
