Remy Haynes Photo Shoot

REMY Girl

the subject of today: students & classroom genre
freeze!!!! its the photographer!
its remy! SMILING! You can't know how hard it was to shoot pics of her. She was THAT focused.
alvin acting like a ham a blast shooting with these folks

fiddling with the battery...
the makeup goods- Jenny's forte
meet tracy, very fashionably clad!
She's blonde. Tall. Hot-to-trot. Talented. Mellow. Meet Seattle Photographer Remy Haynes of Remy Girl photography. Calm, unique, and inspiring Remy rocked the set today shooting for a very large Redmond based software company. *wink*

Check out the pics from today, it was a mellow, but fun and entertaining shoot. I love that Remy's work shows off her artistic flair, knack for tackling the conceptual ideas and transforming them to imagery...

Visit her website to experience the taste of a new flavor. Seattle is overflowing with artists, but Remy is one to watch for (according to PDN!)

" I feel fortunate." She says. She goes into further detail explaining to Jenny (the hair/makeup artist) and I, about not feeling bashful that she dedicated herself to the photography industry. Fully vested in the field, she feels she has earned the freedom to work several days followed by a month off straight if needed/wanted. She loves working hard, enjoys it, but when also feels her hard work has paid off thus far. "I was studying law." Remy tells all about her ideas for the future before the photography bug bit her...today her clients include AT&T, WellsFargo, Microsoft, Bank of America and many more...

Check out our goofy video from today- Alvin (stylist), Jenny (makeup/hair) , Tracy (producer) and Rene (from Fitch) piled in to make this a great photo shoot! As my mom would say, " be on your best behavior." We tried our best to act professional, focused on the task at hand, but towards the end it began to get silly as the day wore on....Alvin is such a HAM! The video only shows a HINT of his humor...

I'm checking out now for the night, so keep it real and work hard to achieve your goals! If we all worked as hard as Remy did, we'd be somewhere by now! Kidding. Its not the destination, its the journey that counts! At least I have to keep reminding myself...

Ich bin ueber-GLUCKLICH!

Pop Quiz!

What is this a picture of?
A) a fire hydrant
B) a mechanical hamster
C) Ape's new 50mm 1.2 lens
D) a nun

Well....

The answer....drumroll please.....Its "C"!!!!

We're happy to welcome the 50mm 1.2 to our family of happy lenses. Now, our 85mm 1.2 ii has a baby sister! THANK YOU CANON!!

CANON ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! They have the best lenses IMO.
My older brother Thomas Greer is a Nikon'er and I guess my only big beef with Nikon is that none of their digital cameras are full-frame! That's lame! Really lame!
Canon has full frame + nice lenses. Win-win!
I have my parents to thank for getting me HOOKED on Canon. I received my first Canon model (film version) in Heidelberg from my favorite store Media Markt (every popular chain store is called Markt over there).
I was a weekly if not bi-weekly film & slide shooter with Media Markt. I picked the minds of all the camera guys at the photo stand in Media Markt. Over there, you pratically need a degree to work at the photo counter! Try that here in Rite Aid. In Deutschland people train for a specific industry field in order to progress in the workplace.
I would RUN to the store from the bus stop in order to make their store hours to pick up film. They taught me a film & slide 'pushing' process. In fact, they secretly gave me stickers for free slide developing, because it was obvious I was a broke-ass student. Germans are pretty cool people. Ich vermisse euch sehr!
I love photography. I photoshop wedding photos in my sleep sometimes. I don't know how life would go one without music or cameras. My goodness, where would we be without sharing emotions and love and all of those beautiful simple times in our life captured through a lens? Peace everyone, keep it real!

Bride-napped!

This photo, taken by my assistant Lucien Knuteson, shows photo action during Angela's wedding September 23rd, 2006.
Apparently BRIDENAPPING is an old Romanian tradition. Here's how it works: after the ceremony the Best Man is supposed to abduct the bride and keep her in a secluded location until negotiations are brought to the table. Once nabbed, let the bartering showdown begin! The Groom is required to give out favors including, $$, tickets, entry to clubs, etc. to get his bride back. Fritz (the groom) promised a few trips to the bar, car detailing, keg parties, and free entry to the strip clubs for his buddies. They haggled Fritz for almost an hour! SO funny!
The nabbing began horribly wrong: the best man scooped Angela in his arms while she stood around sort of enjoying the moment. He took off with her down the hill, gaining speed and momentum towards the boats before anyone could stop him.
We all saw it unraveling, the events were in slow motion....his legs spinning faster and faster...they buckled! He tripped on his feet, dropped THE BRIDE on her head, and fell on top of her, snowballing down the hill with her beautiful bouquet shredding in every direction!!
Suddenly, time stood still, I thought for sure Angela is going to the hospital!! Before we could blink, the Best Man picked her up, and KEPT RUNNING! To everyone's surprise (because it was a hard fall) she laughed the entire time (meanwhile the grass stains on her Vera Wang dress set in) and was dumped in a boat and rowed off to the middle of the lake to be rescued by her hubby... I love when nutty stuff unfolds at weddings! Like, I think we all would've preferred Angela NOT get tackled and pancaked on her wedding day, but it was funny because she didn't incur broken bones and Operation 'Get Angela' drew a huge crowd of cheering and laughter. I guess the Best Man had some apologizing about the grass stains on her $4,000+ couture gown.
Which brings me to ask: would anyone like to send me their honeymoon pics and a mini write up from last year? I'd love to hear about my couples' great travels and honeymoon bliss. Any takers?! If so, email me: april@aprilgreer.com
Or, go to my website, under the contact page, leave me a little message www.aprilgreer.com
PEACE out for the weekend! Sunday we're taking the day off from blogging! We're closed. Its siesta mammacita, no comprende bloggito. Yo queiro my blog?
I know, you'll miss us, but we'll post again starting next week.
Until then!!! Keep it real~

a fanastic group of hardworking ladies

hamburgers anyone?
Tonight I worked with the ladies at La Belle Elaine's for their annual Trunk Show~La Belle's specializes in couture gowns and appeals to the discerning bride. This is NOT a David's Bridal or random store. LBE's service is upscale and they are attentive to your needs. The boutique has great 'chi'
Showing off their latest and greatest gowns & bridesmaid dresses La Belle's delivered a very fashionable presentation for about 50 guests. Waiters tempted us with garlic prawns, champagne and little chocolate cookie thingys. I'm no Rachel Ray but my conscience knew these items were nowhere on my anti-muffin top diet.
ROCK ON LADIES! ITS NICE to to see businesses in the wedding industry investing in satifsation & entertainment of customers! Personally, I enjoyed meeting new people in the crowd! Thanks for the invite Lindsey! Also, stay tuned for this week's wedding featured wedding professional:

greg & dan achieving those cozy RV/iTunes shots

Supposedly a "hat" shot. I plead the fifth. going out with a bang!
p.s. all men are happily married & w/children & dogs

It was FUN, afterall! Motofish brings the sexy back...

Motofish strikes again! Just when you thought things couldn't possibly bore you any longer at the office this time of year, we spiced it up with a campy & corny RV shoot. Hula hoops, paisley aprons, bubbles and pink flamingos...we had quite a number of inquiries for talent from this shoot varying at ends of the talent spectrum, but the casting was a very specific and narrowed profile! We looked under rocks, behind large fat men, and traveled uphill both ways to find the talent that would fit perfectly for this shoot! Hats off the talent that was chosen, they performed like champs under the intense comfort of the RV, hot modeling lamps and terraining the astro-turfy conditions. Photogs Chris & Greg fired over 2,000 shots today, about 25-30 Gigabytes of RAW files and downed at least a half bag of Twizzlers! It was a lot of fun, but slightly taxing on the brain. Tape of Gath! (inside joke) Enjoy the pics & video! peace be with you and clean out your RV's people! Febreeze them at the very least...

Photo shoot in the SNOW

Check it out! Blonde photographer walking, talking, and chewing gum at the same time..

Cool Videos of E-session with April

Hey folks!! Engagement Session in the snow:

Okay, so you've seen the photos & videos, now hear the story! Our e-session with Liz & Dave was pretty crazy to say the least. It was SNOWING like crazy off an on while we took pictures. Snow was perfect and relatively untouched, lighting was great, and the temperature: not too cold...we got right down to business, shot for a fun-filled 2 hours and called it a day, on to more fun things like snowshoeing! Its rad working with people who are unique and trust us to bring their chemistry live behind the camera! Ray (my fiance) was a great assistant, but kept the umbrella to himself. He was SUPPOSED to be covering the camera while I shot, but you know, men get distracted... I think he was too busy covering himself. Heaven forbid, he should get a snowflake in his eyelashes!!! It is FUN to boss him around here and there, his IS afterall, my boytoy. Only kidding! He had a blast and we look forward to the next best, crazy shoot!!

:-) Peace out & shoot for the stars! Keep it up, keep it real, and just be you! Open your mind to a new generation of wedding photography! Visit www.aprilgreer.com for more info!
