Bridal Fashion Shoot with Erin

I'm bursting at the seams to post Erin's BFS today! Like 99% of the people that stand in front of the camera as a non-model, they're a nervous initially. Erin admitted that she was nervous, but eventually let go of her fears and stopped worrying....its fun to watch people's inhibitions change in front of the camera. If given enough champagne, that is.

Check out my August 11th beautiful bride in waiting, ERIN KELLY! She's absolutely radiant & full of sass, isn't she? I love it. She asked me if I had a favorite picture from the shoot, I'd have to say these are my # 1 & #2 faves...but the "blue" pics are a close 3rd.

Gown design: Ines Di Santo

She was on a roll for this series:

I nicknamed her 'Ernie' because in "real life" she's a wild card. She can't hide this femmie chuckle that borders on a snort, it cracks me up to hear her laugh!

We shot the entire session at the Penthouse suite & parlor in the famous Sorrento hotel, thanks to Nina Kral's great connections...Thank you Nina!

Nina's idea...

Most importantly: thanks to Kim Kelly & Nina for keeping us entertained the entire day...They're the nicest ladies around.

Jessica + Z's album design

Jessica & Z
06.18.07

Enjoy a few spreads from our first-ever Monday wedding!

I love that Z + Jessica sought me out for having a unique artistic eye in wedding photography. Because of their preference and confidence in unique photos, we had the treat of going off the deep end creatively in every way with their bridal party. I adore the colors in the parasols and the contrast with everyone's clothing.

Their wedding was held at the beautiful Canal in Ballard and we'll be shooting there lots more this year!

We had a crazy productive weekend. Hard to believe we're approaching August already. Someone mentioned "winter" and it nearly made my stomach curl. Feels like summer is just starting to settle in!

Laurie & Narada Fairbank! 07.28.07

Yay Mr. & Mrs. Fairbank!!!!

Through uncanny good luck Laurie and I were able to work together on her wedding this weekend! Originally I had her date booked, but due to a cancellation last year the date was reopened. Within 6 days of reopening the date Laurie found us and we clicked right away! Over the phone we immediately took care of logitistics and what do you know, things worked out in a jiff. Get this: originally her venue was booked, but through tremendous luck and another cancellation she was able to get her choice venue! It must have been fate, or something like that...Laurie is super lucky when it comes to getting it right for the wedding!

I'm delighted to post these snaps: it was a 'hang on by the seat of your pants' action-packed *gasp* its-so-beautiful-amazing wedding!
Ceremony: Portland Rhododendron Garden

Reception: The Governor Hotel, Portland

Coordinator: Blush Bridal Consultant Group
More details coming soon...

Congrats Laurie + Narada, they couldn't be more perfect together!
Enjoy Costa Rica!!

Ray and I had a great time today working with the families & guests. We treated ourselves to McFlurries after the wedding.

Natasha & Jon's Album Design

I'm SO excited to share Natasha & Jon's album. Natasha claims to be a big fan of my blog, I want to ensure she gets a fair share of spotlight!!!

They're totally good looking people and complete sweethearts. They had such a fun & beautiful wedding in June at the Sorrento Hotel.

Jon had the most wonderful expression during their first look, he beamed like the sun!

Floral decor was to die for; from the programs to linens, the colors matched perfectly with the Hotel's natural settings.

Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. Paepke!

Towards the end of next week you can expect 2 more album designs from June weddings. Plus, I'll preview a bunch of groovy weddings & photo shots... its HIGH season for April & Ray right now. Zero down time and lots of work to get done around here! I love to bring smiles to everyone, make them feel great in their own skin and capture fleeting moments. Have a great weekend, I know we will! We're headed to Portland for a fandango wedding at the Governor Hotel~

Don't try this at home

Meet Pierce & Linda: 2 talented dancers. Linda- a sponsored champion breakdancer at 15 years old gave her tons of fame early in life. Pierce, he struts around with his $12k veneers and chiseled abs. Can't get more heated between the two of them...

It was their first time working together for a portfolio shoot. Both models maintain personas that were a little too clean for me. With the surroundings and some gritty clothes I dirtied them up just a tad.

All kinds of dangerous materials littered the ground: rusted rebar, glass. Lots of shady folks around, too! I also wouldn't recommend trying this at home or without at least 3 or 4 bodyguards. We had 6 and it worked out pretty well...

TGIF!

Robika's e-session

I've waited to do this e-sesison for quite a while! We've been rained out, rescheduled and it spanned over months. It finally took place today at the Arboretum in Seattle. Conditions couldn't have been more perfect. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard and for so long- I had lotza fun.

Meet Erika & Robert! aka"Robika"

As is obvious, Erika, is an incredibly beautiful woman with a contagious laugh. She is also dangerously smart and witty. Love her to tears!

Robert is a blend of Superman and Vin Diesel. He has the fine balance of tough guy & sentimental man. He has great "man hair" too.

They are so excited to have their photos taken!!! YESSS!!!

We took it to the next level for some shots of Robert's mega manly Dodge Dart....I rode in the front seat for the 'real treatment.' The sound of the engine made my ears hum in just a few minutes-He stepped on the gas for a taste of what its like to race ! It was a beautiful sound....

They were nice enough to entertain an idea that I've had for months: a banana and a gorilla holding hands. Robert fits the part, eh?

Unfortunately, this guy in the corner wouldn't leave us alone. He kept whispering all this weird crap next to Erika's face. About the time I would press the shutter this drunk numnut stuck his head in the frame. He mumbled something like "I'm their lovechild" Its Capital Hill. No biggie.

They really are as nice as they look!

Thanks "Robika" for letting me go off the deep end in your e-session, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Stay tuned for their fabulous non-traditional wedding downtown on 10/13/07.
