I learned two things on this trip: I am afraid of drill sergeants. They make me want to curl up and suck my thumb. And secondly, I cannot eat a plate full of food in 3 minutes. Ever.
On Family Day, there were hundreds of parents, friends and love ones sitting on the bleachers as the Colonel spoke to us; "You will notice a big difference in your soldier. He or she will stand taller, be more respectful, even use the phrases "Yes Sir or No Sir" when spoken to, they will be more focused..... As I watched our youngest daughter, she indeed stood taller. A meer 5'4", that day, she was at least 6 feet. Her uniform was perfect; there was this true pride, confidence and strength about her that made me burst with joy.
