The Windy City

We're stuck in Chi-town tonight due to THUNDERSTORMS at O'hare airport, it was supposed to be a quick layover from Puerto Rico with final destination to Seattle but wounded up being a 3+ hour ordeal at the gate. Our plane had no running water, no toilet paper and they ran out of drinks and cups leaving us thirsty and irritated...
We're supposed to be snuggled in bed getting ready for work tomorrow, not in a hotel 3000 miles from home ordering egg sandwiches at midnight! It makes for a neat adventure, but Ray missed a big test/interview at Boeing because of the flight cancellation and I'm missing out on important photo jobs, too. But mostly I feel bad for him, I hope he can get it rescheduled!

To make matters even MORE interesting: there are no open flights to Seattle for the next 48 hours. With Portland being the nearest hub, we're flying out on the first open flight:Thursday night! We'll get a rental car to drive up in the wee morning hours and arrive in Seattle some time Friday morning.

I'm not one to openly complain or rant on a blog, let me just say without any exaggeration that United Airlines bites!! They gave us a discount on an expensive hotel in the downtown Chicago area, but other than that there was no real accomodation or bending over to help people resume normalacy. I'll think twice about flying with them again...

Ap!
I hate that you guys had to go through all that! I wish I would have known! You could have rented a car and come & stayed with me & Cherie! We're only 2 & 1/2 hours away! Bummer! Hope the rest of your trip goes well, and I'm interested to hear more!

That's horrible! I'm sure Boeing will reschedule, since it's basically "an act of God" that caused Ray's delay. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you two!
