We'll be in PR for 6 days. A short time for most, but its a celebration for us nonetheless! The story behind it: after many years in Germany we both moved back to the USA together in October 2003. It was SUCH a hard decision to leave Europe! I cried, a lot.
In Heidelberg, I ran out of creative ways to generate revenue for rent every month. I maxxed out my time between selling junk at flea markets, cleaning people's houses on weeknights, going to school full-time and working a full time job. The poor student lifestyle gets REALLY old after a few years. For Ray, the American Dream nipped at his heels. Owning property and building on German soil was out of the question for him! We waved Auf Wiedersehen to Heidelberg and the rest is history.
Why this trip is special to us: we fought tooth & nail for YEARS to find ourselves in a better career and develop a fun and healthy lifestyle!
Puerto Rico marks our first celebration trip together, we've finally made it to our first benchmark! Starting from scratch together is no easy task but totally worthwhile. Give it up for hard work & dedication! (insert audience clapping sounds here)
Hugs & thanks for reading this crazy blog!
Ray says Puerto Ricans talk with funny little accents and I should expect to see hairy-chested gold-chained men.
