I love the little effects on this one...
Marisa has intense green eyes!!
save the date: September 1st, 2007
Working with Marisa & Kanishka made my day. Naw, more like, they made my week. Since Monday, some tricky obstacles leaped out of the blue. Put yourself into the weekend mindset, its FRIDAY 2:30pm.
Only 10 minutes before our scheduled engagement session, the clouds unzip. As luck would have it, we chose an outdoor place to shoot. While I hunted for a parking space and watched the rain come down on my windshield, a week's worth of frustration began to build and for a minute I thought, maybe we should reschedule? But no no, that's crazy talk. The show must go on! Why? Because Marisa is in town from Korea (on work) and Kanishka is in town from DC. No chance to reschedule before their September wedding. So when the question came up "what do we do about the rain?" They smiled and shrugged. Marisa admitted to loving the "typical" Seattle weather and Kanishka, the out-of-towner, just played along. Before I whipped out my camera, they were already smooching and fooling around...i knew it was going to be a blast. It was all downhill from there. I thought, let it rain baby, let it rain.
This evening, cozy and warm in my office, I opened the the RAW files on my PC (now that I'm shooting RAW) and toyed with images just a hair. Shortly thereafter, I determined, the photos are kick ass. I love 'em. In fact, I LOVE the gritty rough feel to them and how M & K's romance for each other casts a sparkle over a would-be dreary setting. They're an electric couple!!! Very romantic, playful, entertained by each other's company. It was a killer session. I totally enjoyed it. AND on top of all that, as if the day couldn't get ANY better... He proposed! And I filmed it!!! They decided to get married a short time ago while working in different countries, but seeing as they're worked such vast distances from each other, they had no chance find a ring. They flew into Seattle a week ago, managed to find a gown, a photographer, a venue AND a wedding date. BUT after all that, he still needed to officially propose!! I guess Marisa wasn't expecting him to do it when they picked up the ring from EE Robbins. Sort of a surprise.... again folks, I'm not a videographer, I'm a photographer. The little Exilim camera was hidden in my pocket, again, he jumped the gun before I had my camera out... I sat the video down on the table to do its own thing while I shot photos of his proposol. A very cool couple. I'm loving it....Stay tuned for their wedding, September 1st!
And if its not too much to ask, for the wedding, please Seattle, hold the rain. :-)
