"I am an American Soldier."
This phrase is an exerpt from the United States Army Ethos...my parents graciously invited me to South Carolina to shoot my sister's graduation photos. The "baby" of the family toughened up through 9 weeks of basic training and graduated as PRIVATE GREER Nov. 2, 2006. We were all shocked but excited to see her marching in sync while singing the cadence at deafening levels, standing in perfect formation for longer than we though humanly possible, and wearing the family name on her uniform in a third generation (being the first woman in the family) of US military soldiers. I was so proud of her accomplishments and nearly burst into tears when I first spotted her in the platoon, nonetheless I squeezed into the viewfinder (maybe to hide the tears) but surely to capture the intimidation and watchful eye of the drill sergeants and the tired but determined looks in the eyes of the recruits. Ashley has proved herself as a force to be reckoned with! Look out!
